I promise you, you CAN stay healthy and fit while traveling, the real question is are you willing to work for it. It is quiet easy to get distracted traveling. The people, food, parties... just keep that shit in moderation and make time for yourself. There is no reason you can't take 30 minutes to an hour out of your day to give back to your body and mind. .
Options, you have a lot of options. Cardio activity for days; hiking, biking, skateboarding, walking (a big one), surf, and sports in the local park. Get out and get around. Ask your hostel if there are any bikes for rent or use. There are also a lot of cheap bike rental places around the world. Biking is great way to explore your new environment and getting some much need exercise in. There are also gyms available to you. Throughout several countries I have encountered places with free outside gyms. No the equipment it's grade A but weight is weight. And if you can't find a free awesome outdoor gym look into local gyms. The gym is usually cheap costing between $1-10 a day on the pricey end. I shoot for the cheapest, saving on my budget. Local gyms are old school and well worth the visit. The people are super friendly and seemed to always be impressed by the amount of weight you can put up. So go have fun with it, get your sweat on and treat your body.

Ok so the gym isn't your scene, that's ok there is still plenty for you to do. There are parks and beaches all around, go do some body weight activity. Yoga and training circuits are where it's at. Yet again if you got the cash then look into yoga or fitness classes. They are offered everywhere. Talk to travelers, your hostel or Google, Google is a great resource. Or my personal favorite is to go do an independent session. Look up workout videos or new yoga movements to incorporate into your routine. A great way to challenge yourself and learn something new.
Take up a new activity...SURF! Surfing is a great workout especially if your traveling along the coast, the beach is endless. No not everywhere has waves for riding but the majority have spots to go out and catch a few.
Feel like a kid again, laugh, try, fail and sweat. Nothing more refreshing than some quick fitness to cleanse your head and body...especially from all the booze you probably consumed the night before. Stop making excuses, find a friend and go have fun.
