My plan for this blog is to motivate, inspire, and educate. I'm not a grammar expert nor am I an English major. I'm writing as if I'm talking to you. To give you the reality of my experience. To help you feel and understand the importance of my adventures. I want to share my daily experience with those that may not be able to travel. For those that say they live vicariously through me, for those with families, and for you humans that might just need the extra push to get out here. I plan to update my blog several times a week, setting realistic goals. As a traveler the days get away from you and the WiFi is scares at times, so bare with me.
Umm ok so about me, I'm cool and that's all you need to know.
OK seriously, my favorite color is green...Hehe and I love to chill. I work hard and play harder. Determination is key. I will work for anything I set my mind to. So currently I'm doing this live out of a backpack thing for the past year and I LOVE IT.
I grew up in Canton, Michigan with an out of control family. 2 younger brothers and a younger sister. My mother and father are super supportive, but know exactly when to put me in my place, #respect. I was definitely a challenging child, as I am strong headed. Battling with drugs, alcohol and trying to find a balance between school, work and sports.I love my family beyond the limits of the universe, they are my ride or die peeps.
I put myself through school on scholarships and work, a lot of working. My goal was to come out of college ahead, debt is not something I like to live with. I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a BS in special education. Determined as I am, I set forth immediately applying for teaching positions. It was during this time Michigan was going through crisis, the auto industry was crashing, jobs were being lost left and right. All of this trickling down to the education system. I was graduating and there were no positions available. I cried, teaching meant everything. And then an opportunity arose, and I applied in the great state of Maryland. Within a few short weeks I was packing up everything I owned and dipping out. Scary...yes I literally had no idea what I was getting myself into. Arriving in Maryland with zero friends, only a roommate, whom is now one of my closest friends. I started teaching in Harford County, and after a few years of no raise, hard work and master's degree under my belt I decided to move to the city. Baltimore City, wow what a change and a real eye opening experience. One of the greatest challenges for me as a teacher, but the most rewarding. When I decide that living out of backpack is no longer for me, I will be back Baltimore. I truly enjoyed teaching in the inner city. My heart grew 10x that year and so did my knowledge of teaching.
Teaching is a great career path, but we all know it doesn't make the bank to pay the bills. During my time as an educator I consistently held a position in hospitality, while working towards my Masters. Earning extra money on side to cover the cost of what was mainly my bar tab at the time. Eventually events occurred in my life that impact me dearly. Changing my ways and turning to sobriety for good. Now sobriety that is a whole other story so you will have to wait on that. While sober I was able to save, put money in the bank and save for what is now a unique life style I live. A second job doesn't always seem ideal, but worth it if your building up your bank account to live out your dreams.
Soo here I am, 30 years old and my longest relationship I was ever in lasted umm a few years, whose keeping track anyways. I was married and divorced at a young age. No regrets only lessons have been learned. I value friendship and I'm looking to continue loving myself the rest of my life. People come and go but the ones that matter will be cursed with me as their friend for life. I do believe in love, but I know that it is important to love yourself first. To be happy in your own life before you decide to share it with another. Happiness is not a gift that should be given, it is an emotion you must create yourself.
OK enough of that shit now....I literally am down for anything and looking to learn and experience as much in my life as I can. I'm a fitness junkie, love being outside and will try almost anything once. I workout daily either at the gym or completing body weight exercises. I'm not that big into hiking, well because that is just to much cardio for this girl. But I'll do it. Hiking, biking, skydiving, surfing( my new obsession), snowboarding, skateboarding and of course my favorite scuba diving. If it gives me an adrenaline rush, yea count me in.
I'm just a simple girl traveling this extraordinary world one country at a time. No timeline, no plan for the future and no idea what tomorrow brings. Ohhh and I love my butt, no seriously sorry not sorry it is posted everywhere. Your welcome!!
